Part 1 Part 2 Part 3
Although I have had the pleasure of traveling a couple of places before, traveling south of the equator was something I had never done prior to going to Australia.  Southern Venezuela and Malaysian Borneo are close, but are certainly situated north of the Equator.  The first four pictures on this page are from Magnetic Island, which is located 8 kilometers from the town of Townsville (Queensland).  One of the most interesting sights on the island is the fort pictured above, which was built to protect Townsville during the second world war.

Another great attraction on the island are the wild koala bears.  Before going, I did not know that koalas are among the dumbest animals on the planet.  Apparently, sleeping all day and eating leafs does not make you intelligent.  We only saw one koala bear on the way to the fort, but more observant visitors had seen about four. A picture from one of the beaches on Magnetic Island.  It is not possible to swim most places due to poisonous jellyfish that come close to shore during the Australian summer, but it is apparently safe to look at the water from a distance.  When there are no jellyfish around, there are lots of sharks around that are more than willing to eat you.

After staying at Magnetic Island for a few days, we returned to Townsville.  Townsville Tropical Tours arranges various trips to interesting areas around the town, and we really enjoyed an interesting jungle tour with our guide Ian Clayton. Here Yuka is swimming in a natural pool located close to the road, but nevertheless in the jungle.  After hesitating for some time, she finally decided to go for a swim.

Just to prove that I went swimming as well, here I am.  Looking as sexy as ever, Australian women must have been impressed as they saw me splashing around in the pool as a complete fool. Another sexy pose by yours truly in front of a small waterfall.  Please feel free to set it as your computer wallpaper.
