Part 1 Part 2
Close to Sounkyo Onsen, one can take a cable car, followed by a chair-lift, to get very close to the 1,984 meter Kuro-Dake (Black Mountain). On our final day in Hokkaido, we finally got some nice weather, and we therefore got to enjoy some marvelous views of the Daisetsu-zan National Park.

A picture of Yuka and I taking the cable car up to the top. The surrounding scenery was simply stunning.

My family and Yuka gathered for a nice photo opportunity. Some more Japanese mountains.

While only in early October, Hokkaido had already experienced some snowfall. We also stopped by the Ginga Falls, which is located just a few minutes drive from the cable car entrance.
