Ksamakura is located only 50 km south-south-west of Tokyo an is a popular attraction for people looking to leave the city for a day.  We arrived at Kita-Kamakura station just before lunch, and were lucky to find a very nice lunch restaurant nearby the station. The day was September 23, which was a national holiday in Japan. While the name of the restaurant was "Pooch", unfortunately they don't have a homepage that I can refer you to.

Kamakura is a former de facto capital of Japan as it was the seat of the Shogunate and of the Regency during the Kamakura Period. There are several historic buildings in Kamakura, including The Kinpōzan Jōchi-ji (pictured above).  The main hall contains three images of Buddha, representing Amida, Shaka, and Miroku (past, present, and future).

Your's truly outside the main hall of Jōchi-ji, which founding dates back to 1283. This is another beautiful building belonging to the Jōchi-ji.  I visited the exact same spot back in 2003, and I am glad to see that the place has not changed.
