While Mabuni hill is an interesting place to visit, from an informational point of view I preferred the nearby Himeyurui-no-to museum, which describes the lives of some Okinawan schoolgirls that were either killed or committed suicide during the war.  The Shuri-jo castle is perhaps the top tourist attraction in Naha, which is the main city in Okinawa.

While most buildings were destroyed during the war, many have been rebuilt. It is therefore possible to get an impression of the Ryukyu kingdom that existed until 1870.

This building is a portion of the castle that was not destroyed during the war, and is now a World Heritage site. Yuka and I like to pretend that we like outdoor activities.
