9 December 2006 Eric Clapton & His Band: Tokyo Budokan, Tokyo, Japan
Eric Clapton gave a great performance in Budokan tonight, and the band he has brought with him to Japan is incredibly talented. I went to see U2 in Saitama Stadium on Thursday last week, and was excited to see Bono up close. However, while the focus at a U2 concert is on the show and Bono's performance, tonight everyone's full attention was on Eric's music and the amazing talent of his band. "Cocaine" was particularly impressive, and hopefully Clapton will return soon for another show. Tonight's concert was the last of 18 sold-out concerts in Japan, and it just shows how popular Clapton is over here.
