Norwegian Prostitutes Making More Money
While purchasing sex became illegal at the beginning of the year, Dagbladet and VG are today reporting that prostitutes now are making more money than before the law went into effect.
It is interesting to note that the biggest supporters of free abortion also are the strongest opponents of the sex trade. While they claim that women should be allowed to decide what to do with their own bodies, this logic is apparently not applied to the sale of sexual services. Your mind has to be pretty twisted to think that selling sex is a more serious action than killing an unborn baby.
In other news, VG and Dagbladet are reporting that Yusuf al-Qaradawi, the prominent 82-year-old so-called "moderate" Islamic scholar, recently argued that Holocaust was brought upon the Jews as a punishment for their actions. Wikipedia lists several other controversial, or may I say crazy statements, made by this madman:
"Those misguided people cudgel their brains in finding out lame arguments that tend to give both males and females equal shares of inheritance."
“Allah imposed Hitler upon the Jews to punish them — and Allah willing, the next time will be at the hands of the believers.”
"All Muslim jurists agree that the apostate is to be punished. However, they differ regarding the punishment itself. The majority of them go for killing; meaning that an apostate is to be sentenced to death."
Islamic Council Norway has so far declined to distance themselves from Yusuf al-Qaradawi's statements, but they probably will once the political pressure gets strong enough. As an imam was caught on camera saying just a few years ago prior to recommending a girl to agree to female circumcision: "I am sure you'll understand, we Muslims must be careful with what we say here in Norway. It is not necessary to include too many in these matters. I myself, for instance, have two wives".
Dagbladet and VG are also reporting that two employees of Norway's postal agency have been hospitalized after handling mail addressed to the Israeli embassy. The letter was apparently mailed in Norway and police is now trying to determine what the letter contained.
Finally, VG is reporting that Norwegian terrorism supporters Mads Gilbert and Erik Fosse have been nominated for Norway's most prestigious prize in journalism. Very recently they were also awarded a prestigious prize from the The Freedom of Expression Foundation.
As I have mentioned previously, the crisis in Sri Lanka is receiving close to zero attention in Norway, most likely as none of the newspapers can afford to send a reporter to visit the area.
