4000 Missing Norwegian Children
According articles in Dagbladet and VG today, almost 4000 children are missing from school in Norway. These children are assumed to have been sent back to the home countries of their parents, many of whom ironically came as refugees to Norway from countries such as Gambia, Pakistan and Somalia. The articles single out Somalia in particular, and mention examples of big groups of siblings that have simply been dropped off in Somalia.
According to Wikipedia, there are almost 20,000 Somalis living in Norway. They are among the least integrated of all immigrants. Of Somalis that have lived more than 7 years in Norway, only 34% are currently employment. Norway's welfare system is quite generous due to the country's tremendous oil revenues, and despite almost zero unemployment there are many people (Norwegians as well as immigrants) that choose to live of welfare benefits rather than to work.
While I have not seen any recent figures, in 2003 there were 864 criminal incidents involving Somalis (at the time only 15,586 Somalis were living in Norway). In 2002, 5.1% of Somalis living in Norway were found guilty of criminal acts (only beaten by Ghanaians at 7%, compared with an average of 1.35% for the general population).
It is important to note that the Somali immigrants should not be blamed for the above circumstances. The failure is entirely with the immigration policies of the Norwegian government. However, it makes you wonder how much money has been wasted due to Norway's poor integration policies, not to mention the human costs involved. The most innocent victims are unfortunately the children who are sent back to the countries that their parents came from, and shame on the Norwegian government for allowing it to happen.

I do live in Norway, and even if the Somali people came to Norway under false pretend as you like to claim here, I don't believe it to be true for all the citizens of somali origin.
Another thing you claim to know about the norwegian system is that people choose to live of the welfare. As a family you get 8-9.000 norwegian kr a month to feed an entire family of 8 (The number are just picked out of the air, but Somalian families are usually big, can't say why, because I don't know why).
A normal family man with a normal job earn from 14-25.000 a month, so if they could choose, they would be off welfare. The earnings depends on what kind of job you land and what kind of education you have.
Many of the somali people that come to Norway I think would love to work a normal job, but don't get it because they don't have any valid education. So they are forced to go on welfare, and don't choose to go on welfare. It shows how little you know about the norwegian system.
I would like to see you live of the welfare system in Norway and then see if you could continue after a while. Because having a job is what the norwegian system tries to encourage every man and woman in get.
The welfare is for those that are left out, either by sickness, injury, lack of education, lack of jobs and so forth.
There is also different kinds of welfare, but that is a different discussion.

A Somalian arrives in Bergen as a new immigrant to Norway
He stops the first man he sees walking down the street and says, 'Thank you Mr Nowegian for letting me in this country, giving me housing, food stamps, free medical
care and free education!'
The man says, 'You are mistaken, I am Pakistani.'
The Somali man goes on and encounters another passer-by.
'Thank you for having such a beautiful country here in
Norway!'
This person says, 'I no Norwegian, me Polish.'
He walks on and stops the next person, shakes his hand and says, 'Thank you for the wonderful things in Norway!'
This person puts up his hand and says, 'I am from India,I am not Norwegian!'
Finally, he sees a nice lady and asks, 'Are you Norwegian?'
She says,' No, I am from Africa!'
Puzzled, he asks her, 'Where are all the Norwegian people?'
The African lady checks her watch and says ....
'Probably at work!! '
